Sales of Maruti Suzuki Alto's 35 million models, included in the company's Top-3 model

February 28, 2018 0

Sales of Maruti Suzuki Alto's 35 million models, included in the company's Top-3 model

In the case of Entry Segmate, every third car is Maruti Suzuki Alto. Alto Suzuki has also been involved in three of the highest-selling models in the world.

New Delhi: What is a big means of being happy to be two to four? Think of something else, before you tell you that we are not discussing raising a family here. Just asking that for the first time if you want to buy a four-wheeler vehicle, what would be your favorite vehicle for the first time. Maruti Suzuki, the largest car market leader, will be the answer to most people, Maruti Alto

Figures show that in the case of first four wheelers, Entry Segmate, every third car is Maruti Suzuki Alto. Alto Suzuki has also been involved in three of the highest-selling models in the world. In the Indian market, this vehicle is competing with, Iyon of Huyudayen, Reno's Quid, Tata of Tiago and Nissan with REDOO.

The company claims that sales reached 35 lakhs within 17 years of its launch and 35 lakhs of vehicles were sold in February. The special thing is that nearly 25 per cent of the customers buying Alto are 30 years of age or less, and these shares are increasingly growing. The average age of the buyer of this car, which was 40 years in 2008-09, has now come down to 39.6 years. On the other hand, Alto customers have more than 43% salaries. While buying this vehicle, where the customer first builds the number of kilometers in mileage ie one liter of oil, the second place is Maruti brand, then the style and finally the price base.

Maruti Alto was launched in September 2000, since then, it has been changed six times. A major change was made in 2010-11 when the Alto K10 was launched. Another big change happened in 2012-13 when the Maruti 800 and Alto were brought in the Alto 800 market. Talking about sales, where in the first year i.e. a little over 24 thousand alto sold in 2000-01, the number has reached 2.15 lakhs in the first eleven months of the current business year. The best year for this car was 2010-11 when the company sold around three and a half million Alto. Alto is also sent abroad from here. The company exports the car to Sri Lanka, Chile, Philippines and Uruguay.

Now when there is a rise in electric vehicles in the market, will the electric version of the alto be used? The company's reply is 'no'. The reason for the company's opinion is that the cost of electric vehicles is high and it will not be worth it to look at the price of the first shopping market.

Live music gives an interesting twist to Auto Expo

The all-girls Russian band "Silver Strings" has been performing in India for several years.Models showcase Kia Cerato at Auto Expo 2018 in Greater

Against the backdrop of the charming Kia cars that were displayed in India for the first time at the Auto Expo this year, a band of Russian women -- all clad in lustrous silver and white costumes -- took the exciting experience of watching the car models of the South Korean company to another level.
The all-girls Russian band "Silver Strings" has been performing in India for several years.
Since the usual is to have all-boys' bands performing everywhere all the time, entry of "Silver Strings" on the expo stage certainly took many by surprise.
Apart from soft sounds of the violin and the cello -- instruments that have found to be perceived as feminine -- the band also boasts of strong beats with drums that are considered to be masculine.
Many people, during Silver Strings' performance at auto-expo, saw a female playing the drums for the first time.
The drummer, Katrin Lipisin, said girls playing drums in Russia is "more common" than in India. "The trend should come to India as well and I am sure that it will in few years."
From vintage cars to electric vehicles -- the expo was a major crowd-puller and music just added more energy to it. The 6-day event began on February 9.
For as long as the band was performing, visitors stayed glued to the stage. They were clicking pictures, making videos, cheering them on, singing along -- specially when the girls ventured into Hindi film lyrics and Bollywood music.
The musicians were themselves dancing along with the music.
Lipisin spoke about the experience of treating Indian audience with their performances as "great".
"We spend nearly half a year in India and the rest of it back in Russia. This is like our second home. We use lyrics from Hindi songs in between and that gets a really nice response from the listeners," Lipisin said.
"We just love the audience in India. When some western melody comes along with something Bollywood, they sing along, they scream...there is so much of love that we cannot stop coming here," she said.
"The Indian songs we present are popular but the rhythm and melody is different (from the music in our country). We take a lot of time to learn them," she added.
Indian classical music, she said, is "too complicated" for her and the girls in the band. That's why, they never venture into it.
Describing her love for the country, Lipisin said: "India is really deep. Every year, we discover something new about the country. There is never too much of it."
She touched upon the uniqueness of female bands and their struggles, saying that women in the business should be taken seriously.
"Most of the musicians are men in Russia. All girls' band is a very rare thing for the audiences. Sometimes, they don't take us seriously. They say -- they are just girls, they just play."
"We are serious musicians. We have education. We have been learning music since our childhood. We want to be taken to be seriously," she stressed.

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India today launched the all-new version of its popular hatchback Swift at an introductory price ranging between Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The company had last month opened bookings for the new Swift, which is based on Suzuki's 5th generation HEARTECT platform.
The model will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. While the petrol variant will have a 1.2 litre engine, the diesel option is powered by a 1.3 litre engine, the company said.
Speaking at the launch here at the Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa said, in the last few years, the company has moved forward under the principle of "Transformotion."
"Indian customers are changing rapidly. In line with this, our goal is to offer products, technology and experience suited to their changing needs," he said.
The company is "approaching the new Swift with the same principle of "Transformotion" - taking product, technology and experience to the next level", he added.
Launched in India in 2005, Swift has sold over 1.8 million units, he added.
"For the first time, Swift comes with the convenience of Auto Gear Shift, the highly popular two-pedal technology," Ayukawa said.
The new version is also wider and has longer wheel base with more cabin space, headroom and luggage space than the outgoing generation car.
The company said the all-new Swift is 40 mm wider with 20 mm longer wheel base.
Ayukawa said, equipped with advanced safety features such as Dual airbags and ABS with EBD, among others as standard, the new Swift meets the advanced safety norms ahead of schedule.
The luggage space has been increased by 58 litres, around 28 per cent more than the second generation Swift and around 24 mm more headroom, it added.
The company's parent Suzuki has spent around Rs 800 crore on the development of the new Swift.
The new vehicle will be produced from Suzuki's Gujarat plant.
The outgoing Swift was selling on an average of 15,000 units a month.
With the new one, the company expects demand to be better than before.
